Meet the team

Dawn Clements
Principal

Mrs Dawn Clements is an accomplished educational leader with an impressive history of success in various leadership roles. She has held the position of Principal at quality institutions such as St Andrew’s Grammar, Lake Joondalup Baptist College. and Presbyterian Ladies’ College Melbourne. With a Masters in Educational Leadership, a Diploma in Education and a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in English Literature and History, she has extensive experience in strategic vision, master capital works, financial planning, school improvement, and curriculum and learning. Mrs Clements is a student-focused leader who values quality teaching, professional development, and teamwork. She believes in nurturing the well-being of staff and students to ensure good outcomes and is committed to providing young people with the opportunities to reach their potential and make a positive contribution.

Nick Harris
Head of School - Secondary

With over a decade’s experience in school and church leadership, Mr. Harris is passionate about building opportunities for students and staff to reach for their purpose. Mr. Harris is an astute leader with a compassionate heart. He loves working collaboratively to foster holistic learning environments and missional platforms. Mr. Harris is committed to cultivating an environment where every member of the South Coast community is inspired and empowered to pursue their passions.  

Anthony Moses
Head of School - Primary

With over 30 years devoted to education, Mr. Anthony Moses commenced his teaching and leadership journey in 1993,  educating and leading students across three Independent Schools in Western Australia during this time. Driven by a fervent dedication to educational leadership, he found his calling at South Coast Baptist College, where he has held positions as Head of Junior School and Head of Primary for the past 18 years. Mr. Moses has had the privilege of witnessing students’ progress from their early days through to graduation. Holding four degrees in Education, including a Master’s specialising in Educational Leadership, he remains steadfast in his commitment to advancing educational excellence. Currently, he serves as the President of IPSHA, advocating for all Independent schools across Western Australia at a federal level.

Jasna Trimble
Director – Childcare Centre

Jasna brings over 33 years of administrative experience to her role. Starting as the Office & Finance Manager for Childcare in 2006, she became Director in 2019. Her leadership is grounded in her extensive background in mergers and financial management. Jasna is dedicated to community and family, has volunteered in many children’s programs, and has served on several boards. Guided by her faith, she values transparency, teamwork, and creating a nurturing, faith-based environment where children can reach their full potential. Jasna is married to Paul, and they have three adult children and four grandchildren. She draws inspiration from Bible verses Jeremiah 29:11 and Micah 6:8, embodying her optimistic and nurturing outlook.

Melanie Horton
Deputy Head of Primary - Student Wellbeing

With over a decade of experience teaching at SCBC, Mrs. Melanie Horton possesses a deep understanding of the unique and diverse needs of every student. Embracing a holistic approach to education, Mrs. Horton is dedicated to nurturing the wellbeing of students spanning from Kindergarten to Year 6. Her expertise, in addition to her Masters in Educational Leadership, ensures she remains informed about cutting-edge global educational practices and trends. Leveraging her background in Information Technology, she also facilitates the integration of 21st-century technologies into the classroom environment.

Jo-Anne Gudgeon
Deputy Head Primary (K-2)

Mrs Jo-Anne Gudgeon is an experienced education expert who specialises in early childhood education. She is passionate about fostering inquiry-based learning through the Reggio Emelia approach, building strong collaborative relationships, and creating positive classroom environments that emphasize a holistic approach to education. With over 30 years of teaching experience and a master’s degree in education, Mrs Gudgeon is a dedicated professional who understands the importance of providing the best possible educational experiences for every student.

Michelle Horne
Deputy Head Primary (3-6)

Michelle Horne is a highly experienced educator with over 25 years of teaching experience. Having taught across all years in Primary classes, as well specialising in Enrichment and Special Needs, she is well placed to oversee the Year 3-6 Curriculum and the Learning Support team. She has held leadership roles over the past seven years and is currently studying a Masters in Educational Leadership. Michelle has a long history with South Coast Baptist College, having all three of her children attend the school from Kindy through to Year 12. 

Benjamin Devadoss
Deputy Head of Secondary - Curriculum Administration

Mr Benjamin Devadoss is a seasoned educator with a passion for education which has led him to gain a wealth of experience teaching in schools in across rural Western Australia, Cambodia and Sweden. He has been utilising his invaluable insights into the many ways in which educational institutions operate and thrive as a school leader in Curriculum for the past four years. With a commitment to excellence and a wealth of experience, he is dedicated to creating and organising learning pathways that provide students with opportunities to achieve purposeful outcomes.

Alexander King
Deputy Head of Secondary – Wellbeing

With over 20 years in education, Alexander King champions a positive learning environment where strong pastoral support empowers students. His Master’s in educational leadership, with a focus on cyberbullying through his dissertation, equips him to address student well-being and develop robust pastoral programs. Alexander envisions schools fostering not just academic growth, but also responsible citizens who will shape Australia’s future. He sees education as the cornerstone of national potential, believing well-rounded students become engaged citizens, ready to lead our country forward. Alexander has had decades of experience as an educational leader both in Australia and overseas. 

Keagan Holmes
Deputy Head Secondary - Teaching and Learning

Joining South Coast Baptist College in 2023 as Deputy Head of Secondary for Teaching and Learning, Keagan brings extensive experience and a deep commitment to education. With a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Education (STEM), Keagan has taught across a variety of subject areas including Humanities & Social Sciences, Digital & Design Technologies, Mathematics, and Science, across all of Secondary School emphasizing a well-rounded educational approach.

Passionate about Christian education, Keagan advocates for holistic development alongside academic excellence. He focuses on ensuring each student receives tailored challenges to foster growth, supporting both extension for high achievers and targeted assistance for others. As an educational leader, Keagan fosters a collaborative environment where educators thrive through professional development developing innovative pedagogical practices, aiming to enhance student engagement and outcomes.
